Today, Abbot’s Hill warmly welcomed Mr Debashis Dasgupta as our new Chair of Governors. Mr Dasgupta brings a wealth of experience from the commercial sector to this role. In both his professional and personal life, Mr Dasgupta has always recognised the value and importance of education in shaping children’s lives. Education is close to his heart: his wife is a teacher and the family supports children in developing countries in their educational and personal development.
On addressing the staff this morning, Mr Dasgupta said “I am thrilled to be working alongside you and look forward to supporting the school in the next step of its journey. Education has been so important to me and a firm believer in the value of education”
The Head, Kathryn Gorman, and Chair work closely together to deliver the school’s strategy. Kathryn Gorman said “I am delighted to welcome Debashis today. It gives me great pleasure to be able to share the incredible work that goes on at Abbot’s Hill each and every day to deliver outstanding pastoral care, excellent relationships between home and school and a community that is built upon compassion, kindness and respect.”
