Partnerships

A key element of our School vision is to ‘challenge everyone in our community to become active, compassionate citizens who make significant and lasting contributions to others throughout their lives.’

It is an exciting time for partnership opportunities at Abbot’s Hill School, with renewed emphasis on giving back to our local community since the easing of COVID-19 restrictions reflected in our programme of activities. We are committed to the wider community beyond our own school gate, and actively seek to share expertise, passion and resources to build mutually beneficial relationships.

Our partnership work is based on collaboration and co-operation with state-maintained schools in the local area. Pupils and teachers from both sectors can, and should continuously learn from each other. We also work closely with other local independent schools and organisations, including Herts Music Service.

Abbot’s Hill works with other schools, sharing best practice and remaining up to date with key issues and professional development. In particular, we have established an EYFS Hub, a Digital Learning Hub and an ECT Hub.

Charitable Activity Fundraising

Every year we support a number of charities. Our pupils find learning about and helping these organisations both interesting and greatly rewarding in knowing how much they are helping others.

Last year we supported the following charities holding fundraising events and collecting goods: Jeans for Genes, Salvation Army, BBC Children in Need, Royal British legion, Kids Out, Save the Children, DENS, Plan UK, Comic Relief, Charity Boots, Place 2 Be, BAPS Neasden Temple Indian Coronavirus Crisis Appeal and Cancer Research UK.

Through the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme many of our pupils in Years 9-11 volunteer in the local community. Their support has ranged from helping with sports clubs, in charity shops and providing one to one support with an individual in need.

Environmental

We are deeply committed to environmental education and action, empowering pupils to take up meaningful activities and projects. Our Prep and Senior Eco clubs give pupils the chance to influence and promote positive environmental behaviour, engaging families and the wider community. This work proves extremely rewarding to all involved.
