Prep School (4+ and 7+)

The usual entry points to Abbot’s Hill Prep are 4+ (Reception), or 7+ (Year 3). Occasional vacancies do arise in other year groups. We currently have some vacancies in Years 1-5.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Admissions Office for information regarding occasional places throughout the year.

A visit to our Prep School is highly recommended. We host a number of Open events throughout the year, and individual tours can also be arranged.

Entry to Reception (4+)

Starting school is a big step for any child. We understand and cater for the individual needs of every child joining our assessment process.

Entry assessments take place in December prior to the September of joining the School. Children work and play in a relaxed environment with expert staff on the assessment day, and spend approximately two hours with us. Toys, books and 1-1 tasks are used to engage conversation. Children enjoy the experience, as our staff ensure that they feel at ease at all times

Reception Sept 2024

Entry to Year 3 (7+)

Our Assessment Process for entry to Year 3 takes place in February prior to the September of joining the School.

Registration deadline in 31 January 2024. Registered children will be invited to join us for a one day familiarisation visit in the Spring term. The taster day gives your child the opportunity to spend time with their peers, familiarise themselves with the school’s surroundings and experience life as an Abbot’s Hill pupil.

Children will complete age appropriate assessments which are led by a facilitator. We will also ask your child’s present school for a reference.

Parents will have an opportunity to meet with the Head of Prep.

Prep School Occasional Vacancies

Moving to a new school can feel like a big choice. At Abbot’s Hill, we ensure that any child entering the school has the warmest welcome and feels settled as quickly as possible. We do have occasional places in some year groups, and if you are considering moving, we would recommend speaking to our friendly admissions team and coming for a tour of the school. We would love to meet you and show the impact an Abbot’s Hill education could have on your daughter.
