Dr Shori Thakur PhD, FHEA

Shori studied Pharmacology between 1996 and 2000 and subsequently went on to complete a PhD in Molecular Pharmacology at the University of Hertfordshire. This was followed by a GlaxoSmithKline-funded postdoctoral fellowship, before Shori took up a position as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology in 2007. Her area of research is cardiovascular pharmacology, with specific interest in vascular calcification. This area of research has been developed through her team which includes clinicians, academics, postdoctoral research fellows, PhD, MSc by Research and Undergraduate students at the University of Hertfordshire.

Shori is currently a Principal Lecturer in Pharmacology. She is also the Researcher Development Programme Manager within the Doctoral College and is the Deputy Associate Director of the Doctoral College for the Schools of Life and Medical Sciences and Health and Social Work. Shori has been an Ambassador of the British Pharmacological Society since 2015.
