Sharon Schanschieff was educated in a girls’ school in London and graduated from Exeter University with a BSc (Ed) in Mathematics. She taught mathematics up to A Level in two maintained secondary schools for 11 years, before moving to Suffolk with her family where she worked in an independent boarding prep school for 13 years. Here, she held a variety of positions including Head of Day Pupils and Assistant Head. Sharon joined Abbot’s Hill in 2015 to teach mathematics and has since worked as Head of Year and Professional Tutor, before joining the Senior Leadership Group in 2019 where she currently holds the position of Deputy Head Academic. Sharon is married to Chris, a Deputy Head of a local prep school and has two children who have recently graduated from university. She enjoys reading and musical theatre but would consider herself to be a cricket and hockey widow to her husband and both children!
