Pupil Representation

All pupils at Abbot’s Hill have the opportunity to take on positions of responsibility and their personal development is enhanced through a range of opportunities both within and beyond the curriculum. Girls take on leadership and mentoring roles in both the Prep and Senior Schools, which encourage responsibility from an early age.

Leadership roles start in the Prep School to help develop confidence and responsibility, and the sense of teamwork, friendship and caring across the school is tangible. Head Girls and Clan Captains for the Prep School are appointed each year from girls in Year 6.

In the Senior School, pupils are strongly encouraged to take responsibility for themselves and others and there are many opportunities to demonstrate this. Each May, when Year 11 begin their study leave, prefects are appointed following consultation with the pupil body and staff. They are led by the Head Girl, her deputees and a number of other officers and play a major role in the smooth running of the school.
