Abbot’s Hill supports the local community

Keen to support the local community in different ways Mrs Kneller, Head of Partnerships and Mrs Hardy, Prep Deputy Head Pastoral, visited a local care home to loan them some Easter activities.

With the Easter holidays fast approaching it was the perfect time to donate some activities to Water Mill House Care Home, in Apsley. Earlier this week Mrs Kneller and Mrs Hardy headed down the hill laden with K’Nex kits and some materials for watercolour painting, that we hope the residents will enjoy.

“When the key worker children took part in waving to the residents of Water Mill House Care Home, we wanted to extend the connection and thought of different ways in which we could engage. Hearing that someone’s grandfather loved to construct K’Nex with their grandson, we decided that the Care Home could make use of our K’Nex sets that are currently not used.

Our Year 5 and 6 pupils are working on watercolour landscapes in art so we decided to share some of our resources with Water Mill House Care Home to give the residents the chance to enjoy the experience of painting. We are really hoping to share our masterpieces both ways.”  Mrs Kneller, Head of Partnerships
