On Tuesday 31 January, Years 1 and 2 had an exciting morning of drama, role-play and improvisation to spark their imaginations in our topics.
Year 2 enjoyed a fascinating workshop about London’s disastrous fire and its key locations and characters. They even got to meet Samuel Pepys and take a time capsule back to 1666!
Weather around the world was explored by Year 1, who helped Wendy the Weather Reporter. They prepared a forecast by improvising and soundscaping the characteristics of different weather conditions. The girls travelled in a Weather Capsule to Australia, the Sahara Desert, Greenland and then even to the Amazon Rainforest in Peru.
Both classes had the opportunity to develop their confidence and social skills in the Anti-bullying workshop; where the girls discussed:
– The importance of body language
– How to have a strong clear voice
– How to have excellent eye contact
– What is bullying and what makes children bully?
– What to do if you are being bullied?
It was a powerful interactive workshop where the girls were able to discuss bullying using role-play scenarios.
Thank you to Perform for Schools for a very fun and informative morning.
