Co-curricular provision continues at Abbot’s Hill

Posted: 7th January 2021

At Abbot’s Hill we believe that additional clubs and activities form a vital part of our pupils’ education.

Not only that, they are an extension of our classroom based activities. As a result, they are just as important to continue throughout this period of remote learning.

Within 24 hours of the government’s announcement, a timetable of virtual clubs has been created, covering almost everything our girls would normally do on campus. Who says you need a pool to have a swim club?! All clubs for the Senior School are running on Google Classroom.

There is something for everyone. Language-based clubs include Vocab Ninja, French Culture and also clinics for French and Spanish Grammar to aid virtual lessons. Further clinics are offered across other academic subjects.

Dance classes continue as normal and the Rugby club is posting weekly challenges and skill development videos. There is also the ‘Race to the Highlands’ sports challenge to get all pupils outside walking, running or cycling to contribute to their Clan’s total mileage.

There are even a few new clubs on the agenda with Marketing and Photography clubs present for 2021. Term Time favourites are still there, with Knitting club, Magazine club and all music groups taking place.
