GCSE Spanish Trip to Seville

Year 10 and 11 students from Abbot’s Hill l have recently returned from a wonderful cultural trip to Seville, where they had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Andalucian life and put their Spanish language skills into practice in real-world settings.

Over four days, the group enjoyed a rich and varied itinerary packed with history, culture, and unforgettable experiences.

On the first day, students explored the magnificent Real Alcázar — one of Spain’s most stunning royal palaces — marvelling at its intricate Arabic architecture and beautifully kept gardens. Day two brought a guided walking tour of the city, giving students a deeper understanding of Seville’s heritage, before the group rounded off the evening with a captivating flamenco performance.

The third day saw students visit the awe-inspiring Seville Cathedral, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world, as well as the historic Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza, where they learned about the traditions and significance of this iconic bullring. To close the trip, students took part in a flamenco dance workshop — a highlight of the visit that brought plenty of laughter and revealed some impressive hidden talents along the way.

Throughout the trip, students demonstrated excellent enthusiasm and impeccable behaviour, representing the school with real pride. A huge congratulations to all involved — it was a truly memorable experience.  And thank you to the staff who accompanied the trip!
