Welcome to the Nursery

Our Day Nursery and Pre-School in Hemel Hempstead welcomes boys and girls from six months of age through to Pre-school. We offer a full day and all-year-round provision in our modern, spacious and innovative nursery building which is located next to the Prep School in the spectacular Abbot’s Hill School grounds.  In 2026, our Nursery was named one of the 20 best nurseries in the East of England, based on the strength of our parent reviews.

The highly skilled and professional Nursery staff are dedicated to ensuring that all the children in their care receive the best start, providing high-quality care and education through rich and varied, planned and spontaneous activities, tailored to each individual child’s needs. Children are nurtured and encouraged throughout their time at Nursery, with clear and open communication with parents and carers key to the happiness of their transition from home to nursery and beyond.

The Nursery has been purpose-built with the children’s learning, development and enjoyment in mind. With the building all on one level, children have free-flow access to the outside areas that can be used all year round, whatever the weather. The outside space has been divided into three main areas, according to the children’s ages, with resources carefully chosen to enhance their learning.

The Nursery provides an excellent foundation to primary school education and feeds seamlessly into the Prep School, reflecting the ethos and values of Abbot’s Hill School.
