At Abbot’s Hill, we believe that a truly great education begins with belonging. Equality, diversity and inclusion are not box-ticking exercises — they are fundamental to who we are.

We are proud of our warm, welcoming community and committed to ensuring that every pupil, staff member and family feels seen, valued and respected. We celebrate difference, champion every voice, and work continuously to make sure that our school reflects the richness and diversity of the world our pupils will go on to shape.

Equality, diversity, and inclusion are not policies we apply from the outside. They are values we live from within, woven through every aspect of school life — from the classroom and the curriculum, to the staffroom, the sports pitch, and beyond.

In 2025, we were incredibly proud to have been a Finalist in the Independent Schools’ Association Awards for our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

There are many ways to get a taste of life at Abbot’s Hill – whatever you choose, you can be sure of a warm welcome. We are very proud of everything that goes on each day in our classrooms, outside in the 76 acres of parkland and through our extensive co-curricular programme, and our pupils are always keen to meet prospective families and chat about their experiences at school. We know that our pupils are our very best ambassadors!

Our Clan Dance Competition was an incredible showcase of talent, teamwork, and dedication.

Our senior students have been working hard, practising and rehearsing to come together and deliver some amazing performances. The competition was tough, and every clan shone on stage, bringing energy, creativity, and spirit to their routines.

A huge congratulations to this year’s winners, Macneil.

Thank you as well to our Marketing Club for putting together such a fantastic reel and capturing the event so brilliantly.

We were delighted to welcome local historian Richard Westwood to Abbot’s Hill School to speak with our Year 6 students about the rich history of our site.

The visit, kindly arranged by Mrs Kneller, gave the girls a fascinating insight into John Dickinson, who built Abbot’s Hill as a family home, and how it has evolved into the school we know today.

Students also enjoyed learning about our Observatory, which once housed a telescope, adding another layer to the school’s unique heritage.

The girls showed great curiosity throughout the talk, asking thoughtful questions and engaging enthusiastically with the stories shared. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring local history to life.

As we wrap up the Spring Term, we just want to say a huge thank you to our incredible students, staff, and community for all the hard work, energy, and achievements over the past few months.

It is also time to say a fond farewell to some of our wonderful staff members. You will be truly missed, and we wish you all the very best in your next chapters.

To everyone in our school community, we hope you have a well deserved, restful, and enjoyable holiday. Good luck to our senior students heading off on their ski trip. Have an amazing time.

While the school may be quieter over the break, there will still be a dedicated team behind the scenes keeping everything running smoothly. Thank you to our support staff for all that you do.

This year’s Head Girl Hustings saw a fantastic group of Year 10 students take to the stage, each sharing their own inspiring vision for leadership. Their speeches reflected the values at the heart of our community, confidence,
compassion, ambition and integrity, and a real commitment to making a positive difference.

The final decision will be announced tomorrow morning during Mark Reading, and we could not be prouder of every student who took part. Each candidate showed remarkable courage, authenticity and passion throughout the process.

The Easter Bunny paid a special visit to our school today.

Wind and hail showers could not stop the fun as everyone set off on an exciting Easter egg hunt. There was also a competition to see who could collect the most eggs, and the Macneil clan were victorious.

To finish the day, every child received a delicious chocolate egg.

A big thank you to AHSPA for helping keep the Easter Bunny well stocked with eggs. We are very grateful for your support.
