Nursery Curriculum

Abbot’s Hill Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which sets the standard for all Early Years providers. At its heart is the belief that:

“Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential.”

We take this ethos to heart, providing an inspirational beginning to your child’s education through high-quality care and learning. Our programme blends rich, varied, and engaging activities — both planned and spontaneous — tailored to the needs of each individual child.

Our youngest children learn primarily through play, while learning becomes increasingly structured as they grow. In the Pre-School stage, visiting teachers enhance the curriculum with specialist tuition, including Music, Physical Education, and Woodland School experiences.

From babies taking their first steps to children preparing for school, every child is encouraged to explore, discover, ask questions, and draw their own conclusions, fostering curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Book a Visit

There are many ways to get a taste of life at Abbot’s Hill – whatever you choose, you can be sure of a warm welcome. We are very proud of everything that goes on each day in our classrooms, outside in the 76 acres of parkland and through our extensive co-curricular programme, and our pupils are always keen to meet prospective families and chat about their experiences at school. We know that our pupils are our very best ambassadors!
