It’s been a busy few weeks in Careers, we welcomed in Bhini Phagura for our final Careers & Cake of the academic year, an inspiring journey into law with brilliant student questions. We cannot wait to welcome our next guest speakers starting in September.
Year 10 excelled in their work experience placements, ranging from Harry Potter to nurseries… what a week. They did the school proud with their exceptional behaviour, work ethic and confidence.
And we’re not done yet… Careers Day is coming on 30 June with sectors including aviation, NHS, law, creative industries, marketing and more coming in to do workshops with Year 9 and 10. They will also have the incredible Medical Mavericks coming in to talk all things careers in health. Year 7 and 8 will embark on the British Airways Challenge to create their own airline of the future – there will be prizes to be won.

THE HEROES BEHIND THE COSTUMES
Today we celebrate the heroes behind the costumes.
The teachers who inspire a love of learning, encourage ambition, build confidence and help every pupil believe in their potential.
The teachers who offer support when it’s needed, celebrate success, provide reassurance through challenges and create opportunities for young people to thrive.
Your dedication, kindness and commitment shape lives in ways that often cannot be measured, but are never forgotten.
On National Thank a Teacher Day, we thank you for the extraordinary difference you make every day.
Please join us in showing our teachers some love and appreciation in the comments below

Year 8 Drama pupils enjoyed an exciting outdoor lesson inspired by the Grimm Tales, bringing classic fairy tales to life in a creative and imaginative way. Swapping the classroom for the open air, pupils used the amphitheatre as their stage.
The pupils explored how traditional stories can be adapted for contemporary audiences, using storytelling techniques to create their own unique versions of these well-known tales. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they developed original ideas and brought their performances to life in such an engaging setting.

Year 6 trip to the Highlands 2026
The long-awaited Year 6 residential trip to the Highlands took place last week and we are still reminiscing and wishing we were back there. From feeding red deer and hairy coos, to water activities on Loch Morlich, we loved seeing and feeding the reindeer on the mountain. We searched out our clans at Culloden and couldn’t get enough of the beach every evening. What a fantastic week. Haud yer wheesht – else everyone will want to go there!!

Bonjour!
Our Reception children enjoyed a wonderful French-themed breakfast this week and were transported to their very own French restaurant experience!
The children had the opportunity to put their French learning into practice by ordering their breakfast in French and using their best manners. Having worked hard on their French throughout the year, it was fantastic to see them confidently using their language skills in a real-life setting.
The morning was filled with lots of fantastic French speaking. And of course, starting the day with a delicious pain au chocolat was a definite highlight – that’s always a yes from us!
Très bien, Reception!

Last week, our Year 2 class enjoyed a very special sleepover at school.
The children spent the night in the beautiful Drawing Room of the Main House, where they enjoyed games, watched a film, and tucked into a delicious takeaway-themed meal prepared by our wonderful catering team.
After an evening full of fun and laughter, everyone snuggled down in their sleeping bags for a memorable night with friends.
For some of our pupils, this was their very first time staying away from home, and they were incredibly brave. We were so proud of how brave and independent they were throughout the experience.

On Thursday 21 May, Prep School musicians took to the stage for a wonderful evening concert performed in front of a large and appreciative crowd of parents and families. The event showcased the breadth of musical talent across the school and created a joyful atmosphere from beginning to end.
Audiences were treated to performances from the Brass, Flute, Clarinet and String ensembles as well as our choirs and St Nick’s Band. Each group performed with enthusiasm, confidence and impressive musicianship, reflecting the dedication and hard work of the pupils and their teachers throughout the year.
The concert was not only a celebration of musical achievement, but also a reminder of the many benefits of being involved in music at school. Joining one of the school’s music groups is a fantastic way for pupils to connect with others, develop discipline, strengthen their musicianship and grow in confidence.
We would warmly encourage every pupil who plays an instrument to consider becoming part of one of the school’s ensembles and experience the enjoyment and sense of community that school music brings.
A special thank you to Chloe and Vidya, our music prefects, for their support and contribution.
