Abbot’s Hill is delighted to share the wonderful news that our Nursery has been recognised as one of the Top 20 Nurseries in the East of England by the trusted review platform daynurseries.co.uk.

This prestigious accolade is based on reviews and feedback from parents and carers, making it a particularly meaningful achievement for our dedicated Nursery team. It reflects the high standards of care, learning and pastoral support that our staff provide each day, as well as the warm, nurturing environment in which our youngest children flourish.

We are incredibly proud of this recognition and would like to thank our families for their continued support and kind words. Their feedback means a great deal to us and helps celebrate the exceptional start to education that our Nursery offers.

At our Nursery, children benefit from stimulating learning experiences, caring relationships and a strong foundation for future success as they begin their educational journey.

A glimpse into rehearsals at the end of last term, as our GCSE Drama students prepared for their scripted exam, Be My Baby by Amanda Whittington. Students specialised as either actors or designers, bringing to life the story of two girls sent to a 1960s mother-and-baby home, a powerful and emotional exploration of stigma, friendship, and loss.

Adventure came to life at our Come and Explore Day.

We loved welcoming children from local schools for a hands on day in the great outdoors, taking part in orienteering, survival skills, cooking on open fires, forest school activities, and creating with sustainability in mind.

Throughout the day, everyone had the chance to build essential outdoor skills, stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing new challenges.

We are incredibly proud of the inspiring careers guidance offered here at our school, led by our Head of Pathways, Mrs Evans. She regularly welcomes guest speakers to share their unique career journeys with our students, opening their eyes to the many different paths their futures could take.

Our latest Careers & Cake session was a fantastic success, with guest speaker Rachael Rowland sharing her journey from banking into a thriving career in HR. Her story highlighted just how varied and flexible career paths can be, leaving our students feeling motivated and inspired.

These sessions are a brilliant opportunity for students to hear real-life experiences, build confidence, and start thinking ambitiously about their futures.

We are also excited to be hosting a Future Opportunities Fair, where companies, colleges and training providers will be invited to host stalls. Students from across the school will have the chance to explore a wide range of pathways, ask questions, and gain valuable insight into their next steps.

We are always looking for new speakers and organisations to get involved. If you would be interested in inspiring our students or taking part in upcoming events, we would love to hear from you!
