Abbot’s Hill launches a Virtual Bookshelf

Bringing the library to our pupils…

The library doors remain shut for the time being as remote learning continues.  We have been thinking of innovative ways to bring school to you and are very happy to announce that we are soon to launch the Abbot’s Hill Virtual Bookshelf.

The Virtual Bookshelf aims to be a digital version of our wonderful library and knowledgeable Librarian and English teachers who are armed with hundreds of book recommendations. Each day of the week we will be posting recommended reads for different year groups, across all sorts of genres and lengths. Hopefully there will be something for everyone.

How to get involved?

  • We’d love for you to join in sharing your favourite books.
  • Write a review of a book you’ve recently read.
  • Send us a rating (1 – 5 stars) of a book you’ve read.

Please send any of the above to marketing@abbotshill.herts.sch.uk and keep an eye on the Abbot’s Hill social channels to see your content added to the Virtual Bookshelf.

Reality: one upside down logo, three children mid-giggle, and at least one determined to face the wrong way.

Honestly, we think this version sums us up much better!

This award means so much to us, as it reflects the care, dedication, and passion our team brings every single day, and the wonderful children and families who make our nursery such a special place to be.

Led by Victoria Lopez Bernal, Deputy Head (Prep), an experienced educator with a strong background in supporting children`s wellbeing, emotional development and Early Years learning, these sessions offer practical advice and support on key areas such as early literacy, numeracy, school readiness, and building confidence and resilience.
