Young Artist Awards and GCSE Art Exhibition

Friday 8 July 2016

On Tuesday 28 June, the Art Department hosted the annual Abbot’s Hill Young Artist Awards and GCSE Art Exhibition in the Dickinson Building. The Atrium showcased the fantastic work that our Year 11 GCSE Art and Design pupils have created, and the Theatre hosted the Young Artist Awards featuring entries from both the Prep and Senior Schools.

Guests were treated to some beautiful music from the Music Department and were able to taste some delicious canapes made in the Home Economics department.

The exhibition featured a wide-range of artwork including drawing, painting, sculpture, fashion and digital media. Guests and pupils were able to cast their votes for their winner of the Young Artist Awards, which was a very difficult decision as the standard was extremely high.

The winners were:

Prep School – Years 5 and 6

1st Place: Chloë, Year 6
2nd Place: Scarlett, Year 5

Senior School – Years 7 and 8

1st Place: Grace H, Year 7
2nd Place – Molly, Year 7

Senior School – Years 9 and 10

1st Place: Iyman, Year 9
2nd Place – Isobel O, Year 9

Year Group Prizes were awarded to:

Year 7 – Grace H
Year 8 – Tegan
Year 9 – Josie
Year 10 – Sofia

The teacher-judged award was awarded to Isobel R in Year 9.

Well done to all of the girls who took part in both exhibitions and thank you to the staff that helped to organise the event.
