On Tuesday 14 November, the GCSE music students in Years 10 and 11 went to a performance by the ‘Afro Celt Sound System’ at the Alban Arena. They are a group incorporate different cultures to make various fusions. It was a very varied and interesting performance with musicians playing the Uilleann pipes, fiddle, kora and talking drum.
We were able to hear one of the set pieces that we have studied for our GCSE played live, as well as dance to the other amazing songs performed by the band.
All of the students thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic trip! Thank you to Mr Harrison and Mrs McAdam for taking us.
