On Tuesday 6 February, Year 9 went to the Watford & District Synagogue to learn more about the Holocaust and hear about World War II experiences. There was a Holocaust survivor who came in and shared the traumatising experiences of being a Jewish child at that time.
First we were given a short introduction by the Rabbi and were taken into groups of 16 to learn more about the Holocaust. Afterwards, we took our seats and prepared ourselves to listen to the survivor. She told us about her journey through Jewish discrimination, the war and how it affected her family. The talk was extremely moving and was very well narrated; the audience felt part of the story.
We are the last generation to hear a Holocaust survivor and we truly cherished it.
