On Monday 27 March, Year 8 set sail for the Isle of Wight to explore the geography of the island and collaborate in some exciting physical and skill-based pursuits.
Set in the glorious surroundings of the PGL centre, Little Canada near Ryde, both pupils and staff enjoyed staying in wooden chalets and being part of an action-packed programme that combined fieldwork investigations with lots of fun.
The girls rose to the challenge wonderfully each day, calculating river dynamics, assessing coastal protection schemes in Freshwater Bay and exploring the impacts of tourism in Sandown.
The group were blessed with excellent weather throughout the week, which added to the girls’ enjoyment of physical challenges such as dragon-boating, the giant swing and aero-ball.
There were smiles all round and overall, a hugely positive experience was had by everyone.
