On Tuesday 28 January, a group of Year 6 girls attended a Royal Institution Primary Maths Masterclass at Crabtree Junior School in Harpenden.
The workshop introduced the area of mathematics known as graph theory, and explained how it was discovered by exploring the historical ‘Seven Bridges of Königsberg’ problem.
The girls investigated ways to study graphs in order to categorise them, finishing by redesigning the city of Königsberg to create their own solution.
The pupils were put through their paces! “We were in the zone Mrs Hardy!” enthused Naitra afterwards.
