At Abbot’s Hill School, we are proud to work with schools from across the region and country to deliver opportunities to others as well as gain access to new experiences for our own pupils and teachers.
Last year, Abbot’s Hill School worked with South Hill Primary School in Hemel Hempstead on a day of art activities. Focusing on the abstract work of Kandinsky, the children created abstract trees brightly painted on wooden boards to create an outside mural.
Three AHS teachers worked with the Art coordinator and Year 6 form teachers on a day’s workshop. We provided all the resources and the children explored working with acrylic paint. They worked on blending and painting and created an abstract tree inspired by the abstract work of Kandinsky. The children chose to work in cool or warm colours and by the end of the day, we had 40 very colourful abstract tree designs on wooden boards. Over the summer, the boards were varnished and put up as a mural on the outside of the school for all to enjoy.
They now feature as a beautiful display at South Hill Primary School.
South Hill Primary School writes, “Thank you to Abotts Hill, who worked with Year 5 last year and carried out an amazing art project. The result is simply stunning and now forms an art mural near our entrance. This has been an amazing partnership with Abbot’s Hill School which we plan to carry on this year.”
We look forward to sharing more partnership experiences! We are constantly looking for new ways to work with schools across the country, please get in touch if you would like to know more about how we can work together to deliver positive learning experiences for children, parents and teaching staff.
