Year 5 Mathematics Challenge

Friday 5 May 2017

On Tuesday 2 May, a team of four Year 5 pupils travelled to Davenies School to take part in a Maths competition against 26 other schools.

In two teams, the girls worked tirelessly to complete a number of different challenges against the clock including pentominoes, ‘the broken calculator’ and ‘Curly’s cycle path’ puzzle.

Both teams did extremely well with Molly and Evie earning 3rd place, whilst Duru and Sai were 9th.

The group took part in a Year 4 Maths Challenge last year and since then; the girls have dramatically improved their rankings. Last April, Molly and Evie came 18th and Duru and Sai came 24th.

The teams have done extremely well to improve this much – congratulations!
