Senior School Spring Concert

Tuesday 28 March 2017

On Wednesday 22 March, the Senior School performed a Spring Ensembles Concert in the Theatre. The audience enjoyed a mixture of performances, including musical compositions and fantastic renditions of well-known songs.

The Wind Band, led by Music Scholar Alice (Year 10), began the concert performing the ‘Wizard of Oz Medley’ followed by an entertaining rendition of the easily-recognisable James Bond theme song.

The Senior School Choirs gave beautiful performances with highlights including ‘Favourite Things’ from the Year 7 Choir. The Junior Choir performed an upbeat version of ‘School Song’ from Matilda the Musical, which was followed by other popular songs such as ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Super Trouper’ from the Senior Choir.

Guests were also entertained by instrumental pieces performed by the Reed Group, Senior Orchestra, String Group and the Flute Choir.

The Chamber Choir closed the concert with a lively take on ‘I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair’.

Thank you to all of the performers, guests and to the Music Department for organising the event. A huge thank you to all of our peripatetic staff, but particularly those who have supported the concert: Mrs Adrienne Cooke (violin/viola), Ms Sue Gill (clarinet/saxophone), Mrs Sophie Harrison (flute) and Ms Louise Hemmings (voice).
