On Friday 14 October, the Senior School enjoyed an afternoon of music at the annual Clan Music Competition.
Every break and lunchtime, music had been flowing through the corridors in the Dickinson building as rehearsals for the much anticipated annual Clan Music Competition reached fever pitch. Musicians from across the three clans produced some dazzling displays in the categories of Solo Vocal, Solo Instrumental, Ensemble and the much anticipated Clan Song.
MacDonald worked very hard to hold on to their crown for the fourth year running. The competition was adjudicated by Mrs Penny Cobb, the previous Director of Music at Abbot’s Hill. Mrs Cobb was very much looking forward to returning to Abbot’s Hill to adjudicate the competition that she first introduced to the School 16 years ago. She was not disappointed with the high level of soloists and was particularly impressed with the skilled ensemble performances.
It has been fantastic to see the three clans working so closely and cooperatively. They have displayed great collaboration, team spirit and immense leadership skills and perseverance from the Clan Music Captains; the quality of music making continues to get better each year!
A big well done to all the girls in Senior School for taking part and making Clan Music such a successful and enjoyable afternoon.
