The school gathered for our Remembrance Day Service on Monday 11 November.
The Service was led by the Reverend Caroline who spoke to the girls about the meaning of Remembrance Day and the importance of remembering those who have died and have suffered in active service for their country.
As well as prayers and hymns, there were some traditional readings by the Prep and Senior Head Girls and the Two Minutes’ silence was observed, signalled by ‘The Last Post’, played by Hannah, Year 10. The Chamber Choir performed a beautiful rendition of ‘An Irish Blessing’ by John Rutter, St Nick’s Singers shared a wonderful musical interlude of ‘Empty Chairs at Empty Tables’ from Les Miserables and Year 2 displayed the hand-made poppies they made in their class.
It was a special occasion for the whole school to come together.
