Well done to Daisy who was selected to receive a prize after her drawing was featured in the ‘Inspiring Women in STEM’ section on the SPARXX blog. The blog is part of a Women’s Engineering Society website designed to inspire girls to become our future engineers.
As part of National Women in Engineering Day on 23 June 2016, children were invited to draw a female engineer and our pupils in Years 1-4 sent their pictures in to the Women’s Engineering Society for a competition.
Daisy (now in Year 5) drew a picture of famous actress Hedy Lamarr who was also an inventor, responsible for developing a radio guidance system for torpedoes in World War 2. Daisy’s drawing was selected to receive a prize of two books and her picture was featured.
Her prizes were presented to her by Miss Twinn, Head of the Prep School, in assembly on Friday 25 November. Well done Daisy!
