“where am I going, I don’t quite know” –AA Milne

Abbot’s Hill are excited to announce a brand new club for 2020: Orienteering! Orienteering is an exciting and challenging outdoor sport that exercises mind and body.

Available for Years 3 – 6, the club will introduce the core skills needed for orienteering such as map reading, understanding symbols and how to use a compass. These skills gained will be essential for those looking forward to completing their Duke of Edinburgh award as they head into the Senior School. We hope that Orienteering club will encourage pupils to explore new places, get off the beaten track and add some variety to the day.

Once pupils have got to grips with the basics needed the aim is to introduce inter-year and class competitions and tie in with the Geography curriculum where possible.

With 76 acres at Abbot’s Hill we are sure that pupils won’t run out of places to explore.
