We were delighted to welcome back our former Year 11 girls and their families to the GCSE Presentation Evening on Friday 8 November.
Parents and pupils were welcomed with drinks in the Library where they could catch up with each other and members of staff before the formal presentation followed in the Theatre.
The ceremony began with an introduction from the Headmistress, Mrs Thomas, who welcomed back the girls and congratulated them on their fantastic GCSE results.
The Chamber Choir performed ‘Gaelic Blessing’ by J. Rutter and ‘Softly as I Leave You’ by A. Simmons before closing the presentation with ‘Don’t Stop Believin” . Guests were also treated to a fantastic recorder solo by Music Captain, Freya (Year 11), a Reading by Mrs Doyle and a Prayer of Thanksgiving by the girls former Head of Year, Mrs Snaylam.
This year’s Guest Speaker was Claire Young, a successful entrepreneur and the founder of ‘School Speakers’, the UK’s top speaking agency which provides talks, workshops and full day activities to young people. She also works within the media as a journalist and radio presenter in addition to advising the government on a range of projects supporting young people and women.
After presenting the girls with their GCSE Certificates, Claire gave an inspiring speech to the girls.
The evening concluded with a delicious hot supper, prepared by our Catering Team.
It was a fantastic evening of celebration, and we wish the Class of 2019 good luck as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey.
