Congratulations to all of our Year 11 pupils on another excellent set of GCSE results.
Abbot’s Hill girls achieved a 100% pass rate with 97.87% of grades at A*-C, compared with the national average of 66.9%.
60.93% of all grades at Abbot’s Hill were at A*-A, almost triple the national average of 20.5%. The pass rate at A*-C including Maths and English is 98.29%. 14 girls, more than a third of the cohort, achieved at least 8 passes at A*/A.
These results continue the school’s outstanding record of GCSE success over many years and increases in the percentages achieving A* and A*-C run counter to the national trend of reductions across the board.
Headmistress Elizabeth Thomas said, ‘These fantastic results reflect the hard work of the girls and the dedication of their teachers. We are thrilled that the performance of the girls will enable them to take up places at a range of leading Sixth Forms and Colleges and we wish them every happiness and success in the future.
Education at Abbot’s Hill is, of course, about so much more than exam results and alongside these grades the girls’ personal development is clear from the varied and extensive range of sporting, creative and leadership opportunities that they have embraced and excelled in. The school’s ethos, which nurtures not only academic achievement but also all-round development, enables girls to strike the right balance so that they are very well prepared for all the challenges and opportunities that the future has in store.’
