Christmas Cake Competition 2014
The Christmas Cake Club and Year 10 GCSE Food and Nutrition pupils have been very busy recently baking and decorating cakes in the hope of being crowned winner of the annual Abbot’s Hill Christmas Cake Competition. The cakes were judged by pupils and staff on Tuesday 9 December and the results were as follows:
Winner: Kate S, Year 10
Second place: Honor, Year 10
Third place: Amelia H, Year 10
Every year the girls amaze staff with the amount of work and detail that goes into preparing the Christmas cakes and this year was no different. The cakes looked wonderful and were of a highly professional standard. Well done to Kate S in Year 10 and our runners up, but also to everyone who took part this year; it was very hard to decide which Christmas cake to vote for!
Year 7 Christmas Cake Gifts
Year 7 have also been making Christmas cakes. Last week they took home their gift wrapped miniature Christmas cakes which they had made and decorated themselves in their Home Economics classes. These were all very impressive and will make lovely gifts.
