On Wednesday 18 May, eight girls from Year 8 travelled to the Salters’ Festival of Chemistry at the University of East London.
The teams took part in the Chemistry Challenge, where they carried out several practicals in order to solve the mysteries presented to them. They competed against more than 40 pupils from 11 local schools.
All of the girls worked really well as a team and produced some excellent results.
Due to their accurate skills and team work, Abbot’s Hill achieved first place in the Salters’ Challenge, in which the girls were asked to use their analytical chemistry skills to solve a crime scenario. This is the second consecutive win for Abbot’s Hill!
Well done to all of the pupils who took part, and congratulations to the winning team – Samantha, Louisa, Alex V and Amy D.
