Abbot's Hill took part in the Eastern Region Schools' Ski Championships at Welwyn on 22 April. As an inaugural event this could be rated a huge success. The entry was amazingly high, with more than 240 racers competing. For some of our girls it was their very first such competition, and at all levels they acquitted themselves very well.
The enthusiasm and support shown by the girls for each other and by all the parents present was incredible – and very vocal! Setting up the Abbot's Hill camp and managing the bib issue, Mrs Duncan and Mrs Pritchard did a sterling job; Ellie D continued her excellent year as Ski Captain, with Abbie M and Katie M valuable assistants, in looking after all the younger girls and guiding them along the way.
It was in the team competitions that Abbot's Hill really excelled with a superb set of results.
Team Cup and Gold medals were awarded to:
U16 Winners Ellie D, Abbie, Katie M, Elinor

To come away with two impressive Cups, five sets of Team medals and two individual medals was very impressive and all the girls deserved their success; they have worked very hard (in some cases for years) and can be very happy – and inspired to even greater heights.
