On Saturday 10 March, Abbot's Hill U14, U15 and 2nd Netball teams visited Aldenham to play their U14, 2nd and 1st team respectively.
The 2nd team played Aldenham's 1st team, with a number of the opposition being old Abbot's Hill pupils which both sides enjoyed very much. Expecting it to be a hard match, the away side prepared well and were ready to go on the first whistle. The first half was played with a great deal of determination and after some excellent quick goals, Abbot's Hill were in the lead 10-7 at half time. This play continued into the second half when Abbot's Hill began to increase their lead through some amazing passing and movement in the shooting circle. The game finished 17-8, a score which clearly reflects the outstanding teamwork displayed by the Abbot's Hill side. Well done to Charlie C who was named MVP for the day.
The U15 team competed against Aldenham's 2nd team and were a little hesitant at the beginning when they realised they would face sixth formers. They soon got into their stride however, and won the first half 18-5. Despite being tired towards the latter end of the second half, the Abbot's Hill team persevered to stretch their lead to a 26-15 win. A huge well done to all the girls, and especially to Leah who was nominated MVP for the match.
Abbot's Hill's U14 squad was a combination of regular A and B team players, all of whom played well throughout the match despite not having played together frequently. The game started quickly with Aldenham scoring a number of fast goals. Abbot's Hill came back strongly but were unable to take the lead; the final score ended 5-16. Well done to all the girls for their efforts throughout the game and particularly to Ruth who was named MVP.
