Geography develops skills, knowledge and understanding of place and patterns and an appreciation of our world and its environment. In developing geographical skills, girls learn to take part in debate and discussion, write effectively, carry out surveys, represent and analyse data, and gain realistic knowledge about our world and its environment.
Girls gain knowledge and understanding of a variety of places and geographical patterns at a range of scales from local to global and acquire a sense of place and appreciation of the environment. A variety of resources from maps and atlases through to satellite images and the Internet are available to support learning.
Fieldwork takes place within the school grounds, in the surrounding area and as part of residential fieldwork course that is combined with ICT and adventure activities. Year groups have previously visited North Norfolk, the Isle of Wight, Somerset and Malton in Yorkshire.
