Recently, Year 2 enjoyed a wonderful visit to Windsor Castle in support of their topic on ‘Houses and Homes'. Here are some of the girls' memories of the day…
On Thursday I went to Windsor Castle. The Union flag was flying so that meant that the Queen was not there. I saw an enormous green vase. The funniest thing was that a man put a duster on his feet to clean the enormous table. Queen Mary owned the doll's house and it had red jewels and sapphires on the crowns. Then I got to look at the King's bed. It had some ostrich feathers on it.

Today I went to Windsor Castle and we held saucepans that were very old. Tahlia dressed up as a knight and I got to dress up as a Queen. We got to look at the Queen's throne. There was an enormous table that people had to stand on to clean. If the knights were naughty, their shields in St George's Hall are painted over with white paint.

One day I went to Windsor Castle. I was really excited. The castle was beautiful. Then we went inside. We went to the Learning Centre where we were going to eat our lunch. I loved it in part of the castle. Unfortunately the Queen wasn't there but that was ok to me. I saw two soldiers. In one room I saw a lobster on the ceiling. Windsor Castle was the best.
