Early Years Practitioner – Level 3

Due to demand of nursery places, we are looking to recruit for experienced Early Years Practitioners to join our growing team.

Set in beautiful grounds of 76 acres just outside Hemel Hempstead, Abbot’s Hill has exciting opportunities for an experienced and qualified Early Years Practitioner at the new Day Nursery and Pre-School. The role is 40 hours per week, all year round.

Teacher of Drama (from September 2017)

Abbot’s Hill School wish to appoint a highly competent and enthusiastic Teacher of Drama to start September 2017. The School participates in the Independent School Teacher Induction Panel (IStip), the NQT induction scheme, and has regularly enabled NQTs to complete their probationary year successfully. We welcome applications from NQTs and more experienced teachers alike.

As part of a dynamic and thriving department, we expect you to assist in the development of the teaching practice within the department: to enthuse, engage, motivate and inspire pupils.

The allocated timetable will include teaching Drama to pupils in the Prep and Senior School. An ability to teach another subject would also be advantageous.

  • A desire to contribute to the extra-curricular life of this busy, friendly school, including Prep and Senior School productions

Non-Teaching Vacancies

School Bus Chaperone

Term Time only, 22.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 6.30am – 8.30am and 4.00pm to 6.30pm

We are looking to recruit a Bus Chaperone for our St Albans Bus Route, the successful candidate will ensure that pupils access and egress the bus safely. They will be responsible for the safety, comfort and welfare of the children during the entire journey to and from School. You will be required to monitor and maintain behaviour on the bus, ensure seatbelts and booster seats are used correctly.

Hours of work will be 6.30am until 8.30am and 4.00pm – 6.30pm Monday to Friday resulting in 22.5 hours per week (term time only).

The ideal candidate will have a calm and patient manner and be able to work well with young and teenage children. Previous relevant experience is highly desirable but not essential.  First Aid Training will be provided.
