On March 25 we joined in the ‘Wear it bright' for Earth Hour. We marked our Earth Hour by switching off as much power as we could between 3.30 and 4.30 pm and all went outside to join in or watch our teams in the clan cross country race. |
Years Six and Seven join forces to ‘Plant for the Planet'

Last Monday five pupils, Isabel, Kitty, Emily Jane, Alexandra, Gabriella and two teachers travelled to St Christopher School in Letchworth. They were attending the first ever ‘Plant for the Planet' conference in the UK. The organisation is already operating across the globe; the outreach is by children to children; adult activity is restricted to facilitation. |

We have just heard that the Year 8 pupils who attended the Wipe Out Waste Welly Boot Camp on 21 and 22 March have been awarded a place in the finals of this competition which will take place in London later this year. |
WOW trip to the Mendips Welly Boot Camp

On Tuesday 22 March 2011, Georgina Gatehouse, Lara Burley, Tessa Coudert and Stephanie Ferguson, together with Mrs Taylor and Mrs Othen set off for the beautiful countryside of the Mendip Hills in Somerset to take part in a Welly Boot Camp organised by Wipe Out Waste and Footprint Friends. The girls had entered a competition in February to come up with a ‘big idea' to help wipe out waste in the greater community. |
Eco-club walk the path into school!

During lunchtime on Wednesday the 15 March the Year 7 & 8 members of the AHS Eco-club together with Mrs Taylor and Mrs Othen walked down to the gate using the new mowed path and then returned, posing for photographs on the way. It was a little reminiscent of the old style PE at Abbot's Hill, in the time of the Baird sisters, when physical education involved a run to the gate house and back again. Today, however, was a little more leisurely! |

GGG Year 9 Clothes Sale
On Wednesday 6 October a clothes sale was held at the library at lunch time, organised by Year 9’s.
